Nodus Awards, the award for web design excellence. Heavily involved with promoting, encouraging and rewarding the design community since September 2002. Nodus Awards is completely free to join and open to any individual or group who comply with the program's requirements.

Purpose

We are fully committed to improving the quality of sites on the web. This program was started to acknowledge the existence of talented individuals or groups, and to show appreciation by providing them with the publicity they deserve. The Nodus Awards is an international program which means no country restrictions apply, however all sites must be written in English or have an English alternative. To be successful your site will have to demonstrate distinct qualities as awards are not presented simply by applying for one, rather they must be earned.

Official Evaluations

An Official evaluation is carried out by the Nodus Awards team and consists of three award levels; Gold, Silver and Bronze. Detailed information regarding Official scoring can be found in the Criteria section.

• Gold recipients are highly talented people who have exceptional websites. To gain this award the applicant(s) must score between 14 and 16 points which is extremely hard to achieve.
• Silver is given to designers of high quality websites and is fairly difficult to win. To gain this award the applicant(s) must score between 11 and 13 points.
• Bronze is awarded to good websites and despite being the minimum level it must still be genuinely earned. To gain this award the applicant(s) must score between 8 and 10 points.

Public Evaluations

It's useful to know how much traffic your site has, where visitors come from and which pages are popular but this doesn't tell you what your visitors really think about your site. Is the content interesting to them? Is it easy to use? Do they find it visually appealing? Traditionally, it's been difficult to gather and collate this information. Nodus Awards allows you to get a real insight into what they like and dislike by asking them to score your site on Appearance, Usability and Content.

Procedures

Once you have requested to become a member (see blue box - top right) you will be sent an email with an activation link allowing you to create an account. Once your account is created, your site will automatically be placed in a queue pending an Official Evaluation. Your website will be checked to make sure it meets all of our mandatory Requirements. If it does not comply then it will be rejected without notification and your member account will be deleted.

If your site qualifies it will be marked against our criteria and providing you are successful, your site will be added to our winners' area. All applicants are notified whether they're successful, fail to meet requirements or don't score highly enough. You will receive an email titled "Nodus Awards - Evaluation Result". If you meet requirements but do not score highly enough, your site listing and membership will remain intact so that you can still take advantage of Public Evaluations. You can also re-apply for an Official Evaluation after six (6) months from within the members area.
